Former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson has announced his inaugural "Bass Warrior Tour", gracing select European cities with a captivating evening of cherished classics, deep cuts, and insightful storytelling from his illustrious career. This journey will encompass his role as a co-founding member of MEGADETH, his ELLEFSON solo material, and more.

Ellefson, with enthusiasm, expressed: "I've approached my career as that of a musical warrior, always accompanied by my bass guitar. I eagerly anticipate bringing these songs back to the stage, while sharing introspective and entertaining anecdotes about their creation. It's been a wild ride of low notes and high stakes!"

Accompanying him on this tour is Italian guitarist and musical director Andy Martongelli, a longtime friend and collaborator who has been by Ellefson's side during his solo ventures, "Basstory", ELLEFSON-SOTO and ALTITUDES & ATTITUDE tours across Europe. On drums will be Roberto Pirami (Michael Angelo Batio, Rowan Robertson, Gus G.),on vocals Titta Tani (EHFAR, ex-drummer of Claudio Simonetti's GOBLIN),and on rhythm guitar Walter Cianciusi (Geoff Tate band).

MEGADETH guitarist Kiko Loureiro has announced his decision to "extend" his absence from the band's touring activities.

Kiko, who revealed in September that he would sit out the next leg of MEGADETH's "Crush The World" tour in order to stay home with his children back in Finland, addressed his future plans in a social media post earlier today (Sunday, November 19). He wrote: "Dear MEGADETH fans,

"I want to share with you a decision that hasn't been easy for me.
In September, I had to step away from the U.S. leg of the tour for family reasons. Looking ahead, during 2024, we anticipate an even heavier touring schedule for MEGADETH. After thorough reflection and discussions with Dave Mustaine and MEGADETH's management, we have collectively agreed that it is the right move to extend my absence. I don't want to hinder any of the band's plans or the hard work of all the incredible people involved in the tour.

"My nine years with MEGADETH have been an unbelievable journey, filled with countless 'pinch-me' moments," he continued. "Unforgettable tours, a Grammy Award for 'Dystopia', a Grammy nomination, and various accolades for 'The Sick, The Dying, And The Dead' are just a few of the highlights. It is hard to put into words the magnitude of these experiences. I am sure any heavy metal fan can appreciate how incredible it is to play and create music in a band you grew up listening to, and to share the stage with a guitar legend like Dave Mustaine, along with phenomenal musicians like James LoMenzo and Dirk Verbeuren, not to mention our incredible crew. However, the most cherished aspect of these nine years has been getting to know the incredible army of devoted MEGADETH fans around the world. Your dedication is inspiring, and I have immense admiration and respect for all of you.

Nie chcę zakładać nowego tematu, ale co sądzicie o solowych wynurzeniach Marty Friedman? Scenes, Introduction czy True Obsession to znakomite, nastrojowe granie, które pokazuje jak wszechstronny to muzyk i jak bardzo go brakuje u boku Dave'a. Szczerze polecam.

Te z lat 90 znacznie lepsze. Takie filmowe wręcz granie. Ograniczenie gitarowej woltyżerki do minimum, ale respekt jest. Słychać, że Marta to miotacz gitarowego ognia, ale na pół gwizdka.
