Starcave — Final Sins
At last, the debut album of the cult Finnish cosmic black metal act, Starcave. After a 2017 demo released on the legendary Kuunpalvelus label and a 2019 EP on GoatowaRex, the duo returns with six long tracks of laid back, astral travel-music. The tracks on Side A cement the approach for which the group has become known, with a rhythm section that borrows heavily from the post-punk/deathrock milieu and minimalist synths flying in and out of focus but ever-present in the arrangements. Side B is both more immediate and more emotive, even featuring some adventurous song-structuring and time-signature changes which contrast perfectly with the austere guitar tone and simple but infectious riffing. Another killer record from the depths of the Elemental Cavern — hyvä Rauta!

Vinyl is (or, rather, was) available from GoatowaRex — keep an eye out at the usual distributors for extra copies that may be yet unclaimed. Good luck, and safe astral travels!

Czy ktoś tutaj zna fińskie Shape of Despair i mógłby powiedzieć kilka słów? Gość stamtąd się skontaktował ze mną a nie wiem z czym to się je, czy sensowne itd czy raczej przecinek na kartach historii?

Podoba mi się to, tak na pierwsze przesłuchanie. Zaintrygowało mnie, fajny styl. Świetny klimat okładki, przypomina w koncepcji stare Dimmu Borgir.

Tamta okładka z tego co pamiętam to był Gustave Dore pomalowany, nie tylko im zresztą się podobał, była użyta/przerabiana jeszcze co najmniej dwa razy ze znanych mi okładek.
